INOX SYSTEM cable technical specifications :
The 7*19 cable construction allows for cornering and large bending radiuses.
The extra flexible 7*19 cable is used for low load and moving assemblies (Machine tools, halyards)
It can be assembled as a guardrail rail when the post cross-section is too small for a rigid cable, or for weaker supports such as wood and glass.

General information
When choosing the type of cable to use, the main data to consideration is:
. The breaking load
. The elongation
. Flexibility
. The look
It is the study of this data that will determine the diameter, the cable type and accessory or terminal sizing.
Depending on the constraints and the assembly type, one of these specifications should be chosen as a priority:
- For a guardrail type application, the breaking load is usually greater than necessary, it is therefore the capacity of the supports to take the load and the aesthetic look that will determine the cable cross section and type.
- For industrial or marine applications, the breaking load (including the appropriate safety factor) and the elongation that will determine the cable type choice.
Cable composition
Strand: Set of stainless steel metal wires wound around a central wire.
Cable: A set of strands wound around a central metal core.
Tips when handling wire rope:
- Avoid transporting the cable reel using your forklift truck as fork edges may damage it.
- If you don’t want your cable to be altered by condensation during storage: Protect it using a canvas.
- Make sure there are no works in the vicinity, as dust particles invisible to the naked eye may be deposited on the strands and oxidise them over time.
- When your cable is wound into a reel, unwind it using a reel stand or a support shaft.
- If the cable has been deformed during the winding process, it will need to return to its original shape after cutting.
- Carry out frequent checks and possibly passivate using a suitable product.
- Also avoid dragging the cable on the ground, as well as any contact with oxidisable steel and other materials.
